Certificate
Our new Small Business Development & Sustainability Certificate is designed to prepare students who are interested in starting their own business and for small business owners who want to sustain and grow their businesses. The program includes courses in business planning, development and sustainability, management, marketing, basic accounting, and computer skills. Most courses are offered both on campus and online.
Classes start as early as January 2 during Intersession!
The full Spring semester starts January 22
The Small Business Development & Sustainability Certificate was developed in response to local smallbusiness needs and is designed to contribute to the economic growth and development of Southeastern Massachusetts and the Cape Cod and Islands region.
Apply Request Info• Existing small-business owners and managers who wish to refresh and update their skills
• Owners or participants in family-owned businesses who need additional preparation and know-how
• Career changers who have business experience but are preparing to go into business for themselves
• Those who want to start their own business
• Fundamentals of business administration, management, and legal compliance
• How to establish a business and develop a business plan
• Marketing and sales strategies, and negotiating skills
• Financial tools for business growth
Program Completion
Completion of a program is based on full time enrollment. Many of our students attend part time and may not complete within the one year timeline.
To graduate within this program in the specified time, students must begin in the Fall semester and successfully place into required courses based on placement test results and/or high school GPA. Academic advisors can assist with questions.
